Pure tradition from family groves just outside the city of Seville. An oil that caresses you with a sweet opening, then proudly shows its bold green character from an early harvest.
Tasting profile:
Aroma: Intense and green. You will clearly smell tomato leaf and above all artichoke, with subtle notes of apple and banana in the background.
Taste: A masterpiece of contrasts. It starts sweetish on the tongue, but then its true strength comes through – pronounced bitterness and medium pungency that gives a pleasant tingle in the throat. Olive leaf, aromatic herbs and almond in the finish.
Ideal for: Potato and tomato salads, grilled vegetables, pasta, marinades or more robust sauces.
A story of family tradition in harmony with nature “Hacienda Merrha is not a factory, it is a home – the heart of Basilippo between Carmona and El Viso del Alcor, where the olives are processed right after harvest. The family has been growing olives since 1850, and this bottle is a tribute to grandfather Antonio Ruiz, who planted the century-old olive trees in Pago Cerros Blancos. The olives for this range are harvested early in autumn, while still green, so that the oil keeps maximum freshness and its bold character.”
Curator's tip: Who is this an ideal gift for?
For lovers of honest flavours: Those who like green, more robust oils will truly appreciate its bitterness and pungent finish in the throat.
For parents and grandparents: A bottle dedicated to the grandfather who planted the groves, and a family tradition dating back to 1850, are sure to touch their hearts.
